Facts

Usually, I design a drawing around a model. This time, I designed the drawing around the necklace, purchased in Ecuador. Once I had the necklace, I then waited until I found the perfect model to wear it.

The drawing took nine weeks and just over 128 hours of drawing time to complete.

"Aubrey, No. 1 was started on June 10, 2020 and finished on August 11, 2020.

Aubrey's left eye took two weeks to draw.
Her lips took another two weeks.

The necklace featured in "Aubrey, No. 1" took three weeks to draw.
It was the first part of the picture I drew.

There were 104,307 strokes made with the Apple Pencil in creating this drawing.

The necklace she is wearing is made from tagua nuts, which is a seed from a palm-like tree that grows in the tropical rainforests of Ecuador, Peru and Colombia.
